Often a finished copy isn't available when it's time to start building out a press portfolio for said product.
Right, that makes sense. Thanks.

Why do they do that do you know? Just for advertising or some other reason?
I remember that all cameras photos leaked (from the time of *ist DS) were Photoshoped and some users always said that it was fake, because the images were edited...

My very good memory when I got some photos of K20D and K200D from Russian Pentax dealer and showed at forums somebody found the traces of Photoshop and said that it was fake...

Maybe just part of cleaning the images up for glossy advertising.

Photoshopped can mean different things. Some people say that when they mean 'faked'. But really any advert is going to be run through Photoshop or some other software to clean up add text and so for publishing.

I did an art show last month and a customer asked "did you photoshop these?" I wanted to tell him "of course, and it took me maybe 20 hours of work you idiot." But I didn't.

You are right, most posted photos were edited.
But watch this video: the K-1 II photo was "made from" the stock image of K-1. The texture of the grip is EXACTLY same as on K-1.

I think it is easier to take a new picture if the new camera is in hand, so he is not lazy for sure

To me the photos are of a K1. With the "ll" added in. Weather they are fake or not. Only Ricoh/Pentax know for sure.

It will be interesting to see what finally does come out from Ricoh/Pentax as the new K1-ll.

Having just got a K1 late last year. I wont be getting the K1-ll. But I'm still interest to see what has been upgraded in a new version.

I guess only time will truly tell what it will look like and the specs. When it is officially announced by Ricoh/Pentax.

This whole discussion is sinking into dumbness.

In less than two days, we expect the real announcement.

Some time in the future, those of us who want to will have a real camera to try these things.

Patience!!

Translator software says:
"The main feature of "PENTAX K - 1 Mark II" to be announced this week will be Real Resolution System II with new accelerator unit installed and hand - held shooting mode added. #rumor"

If they throw in a couple of KP firmware things like maximum shutter time for auto ISO thats nice.
