Ha ha. No Clackers, a fast 50, especially a BIG HEAVY fast 50, is not on my wish list. I'll pass on that one thanks. I already have three heavy FF lenses (15-30, 70-200, and 150-450), as well as the Sigma 35 Art, so now I'm only in the market for more compact walk-around options.
Well, if we meetup, Paul, from your signature I see you have so far failed to acknowledge the existence of the FA Limiteds, that's got to be rectified.

That wide angle, large aperture lens is the D-FA 35 1.4, right?

Anyone want to guess what the ultra-wide listed is going to be? The layout of that roadmap image makes me think it's at least a 20mm, if not wider, which seems more likely.

Probably 20mm, perhaps something a bit wider.

At some point you realize she is always coming up with excuses when you see her out.. too busy to go out with you and isn't returning your calls.... shes gone, man. You can keep waiting for her to change her mind.. to come around.. but in her heart she is interested in D-FA and DA* things now.

2 lenses about to be released, new 2 lenses added to the roadmap. Can't complain!

Interesting that there will be a D FA 70-200mm F4. I wonder what that will mean for the DA 60-250mm (perhaps nothing).

The 70-200 f4 is a surprise. I'll venture a guess that it's a rebadge of this recent Tamron release TAMRON | 70-210mm /F4 Di VC USD

Rebadges are okay because, due to [design and manufacturing constraints] Pentax cannot churn out many new lenses at the same time. Sigma and Tamron won't commit to k-mount, so the most expeditious way to get new lenses is for Pentax to pay Tamron, then we pay Pentax more. If Tamron made new lenses in k-mount, they would still need to charge a premium to cover small runs.

It's curious how we're getting the 50, 85, and now 70-200 all before the ultrawide prime. I wonder if Ricoh sees more future in portraiture than landscapes.

I keep thinking that updated versions of the FA limiteds will pop out without warning some day. So I'm waiting for them. However, in the interim, the DA40 Ltd and DA70 Ltd are pretty damn good on FF, so I'm in no hurry.

My guess for that large aperture wide angle single focus lens is D-FA* 24mm F1.4 or F2. 35mm is not as urgently needed as 24mm.

Whats the second lens added other than the 70-200/4?

Until the new ultra-wide, which looks to be centred on 20mm FL, appears, I'll happily keep shooting with my FA20/2.8. If it's shorter than 20mm, I might also be interested, although the Irix 15mm is tempting. Nonetheless, with the three Limiteds and the FA20 (plus the FA*24, if I want extra weight to carry) I have most of my current needs already satisfied for 35FF. If I need longer FL, I can go to my K-3. Still, this will make some folks happy and others not.

Yeah, they are. And the FA35 can substitute for the FA31 if someone's cash strapped and want a bit of its performance.

Great move, kill used price for K1 and extent the year of the prime to at least 3 years.
In positive words, the K1 update is most likely worth it, and the new roadmap shows signs of life. 2018 will not be exciting, 2019 is a long wait and 2019 and later is far far away.
