Of course it is. The current SR is capable of 5-axis corrections, up to 5 stops - and neat tricks like Pixel Shift and AA filter simulator.

OTOH, I could sometimes get 1/2" with the old K20D...

It's not a major change in hardware between 3-axis and 5-axis. The 3-axis SR in K3II was rated 4.5 stops. The biggest gain is probably in motion sensors that has gotten faster and with higher resolution in motion capturing.

It does not matter much as long as the rating is according to CIPA standard, which only test pitch and yaw (2-axis). The only thing 5-axis add is ability compensate better for high magnification shots, the other things you mention was already done with 3-axis.

To be able to use SR on GR, Ricoh need to design a new much more compact SR. Then it may be possible to only double the size of GR and add 50-100g on weight on GR.

If only wanting things like pixel shift and AA simulator, a much simpler and compact design could be used, which would offer better performance on pixel shift and AA simulator.
The SR mechanism is kind of slow for these things.

A GR is pictured, not the GR II. How much is the GR II in the old country these days?

@Fogel70: the performance was improved, since the first iterations. And neither of Ogl's cameras was a K-3 II

The GRII is out of stock in NYC.

The Accelerator Unit combined with a 24mp BSI sensor is the next evolution.

But has there been any major improvements on SR performance since K5? K5 SR was rated 4 stops.

Only on paper. The real performance is close.

Yes, shops and people obviously mix the two models in images; it's hard to distinguish. But the first posted picture seems to be the GR (not II), because the II has the top plate left of the hotshoe slightly enhanced, making the hotshoe flat not protruding above it.
Anyhow, doesn't matter.

GR II has a little bump on the top plate, where the WIFi is housed. That's the only discernible difference between it and the GR. Well, that, and the "GR II" name printed on the label on the underside.

How do you see it from photo for reference only? Are you serious? It's funny.

What is funny is that you DON'T see that it's a GR, and not the GR II on that photo.

Do you really think that it's really important ? Absolutely useless discussion. The shop uses picture just for advertising, for reference only.
Who cares about GR or GRII at the photo?

The main thing in my post is 20% discount for GRII. Not the picture.
GR is discontinued in 2015 year and no selling of GR for the last 2.5 years. I've put the link at the site of shop for you.

Ricoh announced a user group event to be held on April 21 yesterday.

Japanese: ???????????GR????????GR meet? - ???? Watch
Google word soup: Google Translate

This kind of event has been done before. They have some seminars and some photographers are going to be in attendance. There's no reason to think this is a launch event for a new camera, but this could be part of what they mean by "relaunch".
