GR relaunch in April?

A new GR Blog was started today. It's in Japanese, and there isn't much on there yet, but you can see some of the categories they are planning to add. It looks similar in concept to the old GR blog, which ran for about ten years from 2005.

Here is the new one.

They seem pretty committed to the GR by the looks of the blog. So why no new offerings in so long?

Good question. I wonder if they've really redesigned as rumoured, or it's just with the KP/K-1 II that things are backed up.

I think those rumors (stemming from our interview) actually referred to the relaunch of the blog, not of any product.

While I agree your interview basically confirmed the blog, and the line continued, I'm thinking more about some of the chatter over at DPR from Asahiman and a few others.

Yeah right. Both Asahiman and Kenspo have heavily tipped if not more that a GRIII was coming but you're probably right: they're just wondering if they should develop it or not.
I guess you didn't even read the whole thread and certainly not posts number 10,11,28 and 52. Did you ?

I don't think development is a problem. Getting a green light on releasing it might be more difficult these days. But hey we will see soon enough.

I did read it. There is no real value in them. Just some speculation and giving the "the future is bright" a new spin.

Well, Ricoh told DPR (not this site):

"Although we don’t know whether it will be called ‘GR III’ or not, the study for the development of the next GR is already ongoing. We cannot say when, and how exactly it will be, but the next GR will come someday."

So, yes, that's on the public record, not sure why you challenged Kunzite if you didn't have any real knowledge of your own!

In the meantime, I really like my GR II. Eric Kim thinks it's just about the best street photography camera you can buy.

Getting a green light on releasing it might be more difficult these days. But hey we will see soon enough. I did read it. There is no real value in them.
