More Limited lenses

Noticed from the interview that the Limited lens line-up will be expanded. Great news!

I wonder if the new limited lenses will be wr , have dc or plm motors or be screw driven?

Hopefully, this could be how Pentax will make compact lenses with very good optical quality.

The 17-70 was the first lens with seals and in the same way was the limited zoom the first limited with DC and seals.

You mean the 20-40?

We’d like more like that one.

I'd just like to get what they announced two years ago first.

It'll come when it comes, and not a moment sooner

Probably the same motors used in the Tamron 35mm F/1.8, 45mm F/1.8, & 85mm F/1.8 SP lenses. Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon F AFF013N-700 B&H

Just remove the OIS and add Ricoh lens coatings.

And cue Kunzite in three... two...

Aren't the Tamron SPs a little big for the "Limited" ethos?

Imagine it will be DA F limiteds. The most needed, especially wider than 31mm. Not that I see myself needing more than the 4 DA Limiteds I now have.

They're not big, AFAIK.

They're more the Limited than Star philosophy, including being a little slower.

See how big the new D-FA* 50mm F/1.4 is compared top the current FA 50mm F/1.4. If Ricoh is going to build glass that can take advantage of future 70-100MP sensors they are going to be bigger. The Tamron SP line of primes are very much in the mold of the Limited glass. Pentax users would be happy to have them as an option.

Tamron's core business is building OEM lenses for Nikon and Canon..... and the Pentax D FA 24-70mm F/2.8 & D-FA 15-30mm F/2.8. Both great lenses. Tamron also makes the Zeiss Batis line of lenses for the Sony E-mount system. The 135mm F/2.8 APO Batis is a really good lens.

I'll love to see a small, tele zoom to complement the 20-40 at the telephoto end. Something like a 50-100 or 70-140.

Wouldn't those Tamron be in direct conflict/redundancy to current FA Limited?
