You need lenses to use tele converters :-)
The untold truth is the most interesting one here.

Has anyone heard any new news about a Pentax FF TC soon. I haven't seen any information about one being in development lately?

Me neither, but I can't help but notice that B&H are selling off their stock of the current 1.4x at a very aggressive price, so I've been hoping this might be a good sign.

Maybe they'll announce it alongside the new camera at the anniversary event? I'm really kind of hoping that they also have some unannounced lenses in their back pocket that they'll also be announcing at the event too. Sort of make a big splash at this event to garner media attention. 1 camera is nice but a camera and some lenses and other doo-dads is much better.

A 1.4x and 2.0x for FF, along with a couple of new or updated lenses would make a nice splash

Finally we know a new TC will come 🔭
When it happens, it'l be the first FF TC from Pentax who uses the AF of the lens. The AF of the F 1.7X was independend from the lens.

So if there are no surprises, a possible name can be D FA 1.4X AW.

Since the price for the DA was around $400, the D FA could be around 500$.

I am very interested in this and looking forward to making use of it.

I'm in for the 1.4x -- thought this would have been available long ago.

Can't imagine a 2x would be much use - as all the existing 2x converters I'm aware of seem to result in a significant IQ drop but maybe there will be a first.
Something like a 1.7x might work though.

A 2x, if optimized for specific focal lengths - l.e. 200mm or longer and the 150-450, might help reduce the compromises.

I'd be fine with a D FA 1.4x - hoping the D FA 150-450 would work nicely with it (at least in reasonable light).

The Kenko 1.5x and the Tamron 1.4x are very affordable options with good quality.
