It's no trick. It's in stock in UK stores - you just walk in with your money.

Europe seems often to get delivery of new cameras a week or two before the US. Not always but often. I am sure it is easier for the company to ship in stages. An extra week or two won't kill us. It will be nice to hear what those on the other side of the pond find out as we wait for our cameras over here.

We are still in the EU, so can purchase it without paying duties, if the seller will ship it. The best price here is £1799 so 2000EUR or so. If not, however, then Wex and Jessops both have the K-1 mk1 for £1600, so by my maths it works out cheaper to buy that and get the upgrade when it's available.

In fact I wrote, the official release is scheduled for next year. As for the price, it is because in some ebay ads from the UK appears the inscription on any customs fees that could be calculated when paying with Paypal.
I have never paid any duty so far.
