Originally posted by hwblanks To me, it would make the most sense to introduce the K20 Super body now and wait until PMA next March (3-5) to blow everybody's mind with a great new lineup.
Ideally, the K20 Super would improve on the K20 with a new feature or 2 while addressing the issues of the K20. By not having to completely overhaul the K20, it will give Pentax more time to work on the new lineup to be introduced next year without rushing.
Since PMA is in March, I wonder if Pentax will wait until then to announce anything major in the lineup.
Just in case you haven't realized it, Photokina is week after next.
While I don't have a crystal ball, I'm with Ogl in predicting that both the DA*55/1.4 and DA*60-250 release dates will be announced.
I will most certainly continue to wait with baited breath...

Heather,
My crystal ball (btw, it needs some new SMC on it
) tells me that Photokina will mean K2000D and K20D Super and PMA will bring K300 and KxD.
There is plenty of features to improve on K20D and plenty more to be left for KxD.
My forecast:
K2000D: well for me this is not a prediction so it's not fair ...
K20D Super vs K20D: new AF, new LCD, Prime2 processor, improved noise and DR across the ISO range, 4-5 fps, 1/4000, current body, movie mode similar to D90, 12 bit RAW, 14/38 raw/jpeg buffer, improved LV;
KxD vs K20D Super: new body, new sensor with gapeless mirror (not necessarely different in resolution than current one), Prime2 processor(s), improved noise and DR across the ISO range further than K20DS, more AF points than K20DS, even newer LCD, VF 1.0x1.0, new exposure system, more than 6 fps > 150k clicks 1/8000 shutter, unlimited buffer (until card is full) by MLC Flash buffer, 4-8 GB of internal storage, more advanced movie mode, >=14 bit RAW, lens correction in hardware (CA and vignette), more advanced SR, GPS port, wireless in grip, USB for external storage in grip.
K300D vs K200D: current body, 14,6 Mp CMOS sensor, larger buffer than K200D especially in jpgs, larger LCD or at least higher res, LV, 12 bit, 3,x fps, new AF, improved SR, 3200 ISO max (maybe even ISO 1600 max), DA 18-55 III (ws+ maybe SDM). Basically a K20D in K200D body with minor cuts like K200D was to K10D. This model can afford to rise maybe 100USD/Euro in MSRP since we'll have K2000D bellow it.
See you in 6 months after PMA!
