I see the advertisement: Save $1200 per pound on the super lens! Buy two and you can save up to $2500 and get a 49mm CPL for free!

Actually, $1200 is fairly reasonable, at least if lens ends up being great optically. Time to save some cash

As long as that price is not just a placeholder guess, then I would not be too worried. I am certain that this lens will do well in the market when released into the wild.

Let's see the prices in Europe... I hope not much over 1200 euro.
I expected more than $1200, I won't complain. Perhaps this is the result of the cooperation with Tokina?

This would have been an $1800 lens without being able to spread the R&D costs to Canon & Nikon users via Tokina.
