Some wide angle lenses that have short flange focal distances aka rangefinder lenses suffer from heavy vignetting on mirrorless full frame sensors because of the extreme angle at which the light hits the sensor.

That is about field curvature, making it easier to design lenses. Not light fall off. Although that would also help.
