I just got my copy of Shutterbug a couple of days ago. And in the BH Photo ad is only one Pentax DSLR that I saw and it was the "K20D Super" is this a typo or is a new model coming ?? The specs on the "super" were identical to the 20D. So maybe the name is all that changed or maybe next months ad will have the correct specs, who knows. But I do find it odd that the ad had"super" in the name. Also one of the other vendors' ad said to order the new Canon 5D now.
The photo magazines actually may hold some clues for those so inclined to read them.

Well, it is certainly in tune with some of the rumours that predict an update of the K20D. Such a move makes sense anyway....

Of course, the same - but K20D super must has some differences.
I think that it's AF system. You could see ad's specs - brief data. Without full specification.

It would be nice if we could return our K20D to have them upgraded if we think we need the new features. I wouldn't mind investing some more dough if the improvements are worth it.

heck perfect timing for me... I will be in need of a good CLR of the K20D as before football season I already have almost 50K on it this year, and football alone will probaly add another 20+K in addition to all the other work, I see my first 100K/body year being this year. And thats ontop of having a K10D as my second body (Always work w/ 2 of them) so except for some things the K10 is being used about 30-40% of the time. oh to have another K20 so I could have 6400iso on both bodies for football under 4 candelsticks (high school fields have about that much lighting them at night) I might actually have to sell a body, A k10 of course, but I never like parting with my cameras for trad-in... ugggg the decision

Photokina could be interesting but unless the break with tradition they wont have their big (pro or 645 speculation) anouncment till PMA

I'm 100% sure that Pentax keep real specification and differences in secret and technical data in ads is typical...

I see situation in such way:

K250D/300D???? - NEW entry-level camera for pancakes.
K200D - the model between enrty-level and senior cameras. I think it will be discontinued.
K20D - mainstream camera till the summer 2009 with price under USD850
K20D super - I hope with 4.5-5 fps, 1/8000 and new AF under price USD1100-1200
K1D - MF or FF.

Hoya love to cut costs. It's the most preferred moves. Here is 4 levels.

As for FF - I think K250/300D (???) will change K200D and K1D(?) will be high-end model in 2009.
