At f/8 you can see the onset of diffraction, but still there is significantly more detail than at 1:1. I really like how the Laowa renders the transition to out-of-focus areas. Both foreground and background look pleasing.

Iím lost. F8 and 1:1 arenít comparable items. Is there a missing word? F8 diffraction I understand, 1:1 I understand. I donít understand how they are being compared here.

The above is a picture at 2:1, which does provide more detail than a 1:1 picture would have. If I had stepped down to f/11, it wouldn't - a scaled 1:1 would have provided the same level of detail.. At f/5.6, there would still have been more sharpness at 2:1 in the focal plane, but of course with even less depth of field.

I understand now. I didnít make the connection with the previous posts. Thanks for clarifying. The pagination of the thread put this on a different page and i I didnít go back and review.
