In this video (at that very end) Shahan says of the 100mm 2X Macro that "it comes in a wide variety of mounts, with the Canon, Nikon and upcoming Pentax versions having aperture coupling"... His shots continue to amaze as well. Still no date, AFAICT.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't know when/if the 100mm 2x will get a release in K-mount but I really hope it does - the pre-release/review/prototype copy seen in the video is currently my go-to macro lens.

Thanks for that Thomas! Your Laowa 2.5-5x album is also pretty amazing. That lens must be a challenge to use.

Welcome to the forums, that's a fine way to introduce yourself. I also really am looking forward to seeing this lens in K-mount! Let's hope the noise generated by thread such as this one help convince Laowa to release it.

So I emailed Venus/Laowa a couple of days ago and got this reply :thinking

So we've moved from 'will come' to a planned date! If it shall be out on the 29th , it will make that day even more special to me than it anyway will be. I'm looking forward to this lens for the very same reasons that Thomas Shahan mentions in his excellent review video. Sometimes, I enjoy using what I have to get good or special pictures, with an effort. But often, when I have limited time or spot something rare, I just want a flexible reliable workhorse, for a good success rate. The addition of a current production, aperture-coupled, chromatically well-corrected macro around 100mm is likely to put my the desire of adding a different camera system to rest.

Four weeks later, nothing yet - can't wait, even though macro season is mostly over here.
