It's still not an option on LAOWA 100mm f2.8 2:1 APO Ultra-Macro Lens – Laowa Lenses Australia (Venus Optics).

Not an option on LAOWA 100mm f/2.8 2倍微距 APO 鏡頭 – 老蛙 鏡頭 LAOWA – 香港 either, which shows that Hong Kong hasn't been completely integrated into China yet.

You can order it now from Laowa's official taobao store if you really want to. I'm just gonna wait for an official English channel to start selling it though.

I really like the idea of this lens, and some of those shots are amazing in both detail and color, but my concern is focus would be so touchy it requires a tripod 90% of the time. It's not that I don't have nice ones with really good ballheads, it's that I'm not usually patient enough to use 'em. I'd wager they get deployed no more than 2 or 3 times a year.

I'll watch for reviews from some of you before buying for myself, but I'm really interested.

That's the nature of the beast with macro, especially at higher magnifications.

Anyone who wants to get into macro photography would be well served to do a series of core exercises every day! :-D

I have the D FA100 now, and it's always with me when hiking, and never used with a tripod. I'd love it if I could use the Laowa the same way, which is why I'll wait for user reviews first.

I think flash with diffuser is the way to go for bugs and the like, rather than tripod. I only use a tripod with macro for jewellery etc. But yes, user expertise and steadiness is required.

Ouch... for that price I'd get almost 3 copies of my recently found FA*200/4 macro
Actually more suited to what i like to do.

FWIW, that's also what it's selling for in other mounts...
