Actually Pentax cameras are quite demanding in terms of repairs. And very time consuming. Where in Nikon/Canon/Sony each module connections are resolved by flex multicontact tapes, multipoint plugs and sockets etc.In Pentax, one will find extensive almost assorted cords that need to be chcked one by one and soldered again to right contact pad.

I fully understand.
Just out of curious, does other place for "Majority brand" cost hundreds for small fix too? This is my first time to send camera to repair.
Luckily the marks are close to the edge and corner, guess I need to treat it like the sensor. So I can wait until pass fall to send it in.
Why have you not considered changing the focusing screen yourself? I understand that its similar to changing out any other recent Pentax DSLR focusing screen. it might save you a bunch of bucks.

Just curious

I don't think they sell the one in K-1 like they did with APS-C, I heard there is third party, but the website doesn't seem to work.
