Welcome to the forums.

No-one was ignoring you. Your posts were in the moderating queue to be approved - this happens with all new members, so we can check that the member is posting within our forum rules... and it can take a few minutes, sometimes longer, for one of us to get round to approving them.

Enjoy your time here, and your Nikon

(I'm sorry for a just remotely related question. Maybe there is a better -- and much older -- thread for it.)

Just a wild idea for us folks with older cameras: Is it at least theoretically possible to use (Android) phone via USB cable or Bluetooth dongle to control camera? These new SDKs won't help us but it would be nice to control older devices (with at least partially known protocols) from a tablet. (Since I shoot K20D I've never used anything other than the original tethering software via USB cable from a computer.)

You can shoot the K20D from all tablet-PCs with Windows as operating system. Also Linux and Android.

I don't really post here much anymore but decided to stop by to say I got a survey in my inbox for the SDK. It looks like they are specifically targeting just the people who downloaded it, thus I don't want to give away the url (since that might spoil their results).

They asked a lot of questions of how I would want to see the SDK developed in the future and what other Ricoh/Pentax cameras currently on the market I'd want to see get adopted. Haha I put 'K-3 III whenever you finally release it'

Just an FYI that it looks like Ricoh is looking to grow the SDK.. wasn't just a one-off launch and forget it seems.

Has anybody released any apps using the SDK yet?

At least I have given quite much time for SDK how it does things. And my program would be in the deep end of engineering. Currently I have pktriggercord setup...

qDslrDashboard - documentation for the PTP protocol

It would be great if Ricoh would releases the documentation for the PTP protocol they use. Then qDslrDashboard (for Windows, Linux, Android, OS.X, Raspberry) probably would get support for Pentax cameras.

Wonderful. Pentaxians are often the DIY type so having a little more control is ideal. Would love to see open source development of cameras if possible (understanding that you could brick it just like your phone).

Yes, I have also been contacted and invited to answer to these questions.

I you wanted to download the SDK, you had to give your email adres ... so, all the people who have downloaded one the these files have probably received the same survey.

bye
