No.Pentax don't do surgical, sterile, impersonal - the 70-200 isn't, and this won't be.

Where can I find the listing?

I was thinking of the lenses we already have... like the Otuses.
Like the portrait here:
diglloyd blog: Zeiss Otus 55mm f/1.4 APO-Distagon: Sets a New Metric for Lens Performance to Rival the Best of Medium Format
I don't like it one bit, it's cold.

I only gave a cursory glance at that (p)review in Japanese.

And a 70-200/2.8 is a lens where more compromises are necessary compared to a fast fifty.
This leads to flaws... ehrm... "personality"

I'm expecting a lens like the 28-105, great sharpness ten. but also great rendering and 3d pop. None of the images I've seen to date suggest it's anything other than that. The portraits posted just jumped off the page.

Is there any information on price? I might've missed it in this thread, not sure. Would be good to know if it's in a price range I can afford (even remotely).

There is an American saying that may apply in this case ... "If you have to ask, you can't afford it".

I love my old lenses. The problem with having so many old lenses is I have a really hard time justifying many new lenses. I will lust after this one but I’ll need to sell a lot to buy one.

I kept saying that before buying 15-30, but somehow ended up with the lens, and a filter holder for it.

I've only heard that applied to Mecedes Benzes.

Yachts, norm. Yachts.

[My forestay/furler broke in a recent hurricane-force wind here . So I could add if you have to ask how much marine-rated parts are, you cannot afford it either. Hope to be on the water by next Mon, though.]

The quote, "If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it.” is attributed to J. Pierpont Morgan, apparently in reference to his yacht.

Mine has grown dramatically too, but easily so, considering my sparse participation heretofore. It's fun, though trying to find different ways of participating can be a challenge for the more demure.

Oh, and if by a stroke of luck I should end up with a K-1, I'll test it awhile to see how we get along. If we don't, I'm sure a KP and a well-chosen lens can be had for what it will sell for.
