I can't get the images to load on his website either, but I followed the link to his Flickr page, and the photos there do look impressive. My FA50 makes interesting bubbles out of such highlights, which while they look interesting, do distract a bit from the in-focus subject. They also show some purple fringing sometimes, which takes a bit of editing to get rid of.

I'm still happy with my FA50, but I see why Pentax decided to redesign the lens and what they worked to improve optically.

I find on K-1 a 50 is as useful as it was on my KX (meaning it could be the default lens mounted, with others selected by task). On APSc the default lens was a FA35 or DA40.

My pre-order date at B&H is July 1.

That is why the 31mm was my favorite on the K-01. Around 50mm......
