Norway is beautiful and I would love to go back, this time without pulling a 100Kg sled up and down the mountains near Bardufoss while wearing a heavy rucksack! (4 of us but those mountains are steep!) Snowshoeing can be fun, but not the way the US military does it.

Not much is fun the way the US military does it. Effective but not usually fun. Did you learn snowshoeing in the army?

Nice! Way to go, Pentax!

...but I still think they're doomed...DOOMED!

Some single focal length APSC * lenses would be nice.

Cheers,
Cameron

Oh yes, it isn't really hard other than learning to walk bow-legged! And learning to roll when you trip over a "Snow snake," It just sucks when the folks in front do not know how to break trail and your sled has a disassembled TOW missile system on it along with our 2nd rucksacks, so the sled becomes very top heavy and falls against every tree it comes near on the up slope.

You are quite lucky to be alive! Most of the Moose fatalities up in the US Northeast (Averaging 6 per year in multiple states,) are when the moose comes through the windshield and crunches the driver or front seat passenger. your airbags won't stop a moose.
Wife hit one about 12 years ago less than 5 miles from the house at 25mph, maybe 40KPH, caved in the windshield, rolled off the hood and walked away. Wife had to stick her head out the side window to see coming home.
