Ricoh has launched a special site for star lenses and a new roadmap

PENTAX STAR LENS | RICOH IMAGING

http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/japan/products/lens/images/K_Mount_Lens.pdf

It seems their are definitely going to be three new lenses in 2019. The D FA* 11-18 The D FA 70-200mm F4 and the D FA* 85mm F1.4 (the rest is 2019 or later).

Just read the article on the development of the 50mm f1.4, and damn I have to admit that the structural engineering segment is refreshingly honest and down to earth.

I agree: the reason for the delay is now apparent, and everything makes perfect sense.
More kudos to them

Presentation is pretty good as well... they took great care in the styling of the website, and choice of the photos/diagrams.

Nice to read the work and thought they put behind the development of the DA* 50mm.

Some really interesting stuff there. Looks like a really well designed piece of metal/glass. Looking forward to the 11-18.

Given recent performance, the "definitely" in that sentence is not something I would necessarily count on.

But I'm excited about that DFA*50 -- need to check it out.

Really is a nice looking site. If anyone was on the fence about these new lenses, I think they ought to get off now. I know I'll be saving up my spare change and adding to the LBA collection.
