Major Image Sync app update in July

Ricoh’s Image Sync app is scheduled to get a “Full renewal” update. This much was known from Ricoh’s booth at CP+ a few months ago.

At a recent Pentax-Ricoh Family Club meeting in Japan, they confirmed to attendees that it will happen in July.

This link is to Yaotomi Camera’s Twitter. It seems they attended.

It’s not clear what this update will involve, but given the way they are billing it, it should be more than a minor upgrade.

I’m happy that they’re not taking the attitude, “We gave you the APIs - now do it yourself!”

I bet this is the Image Sync 2 which was announced in the German Pentax Newsletter in February: Image Sync 2.0 - PentaxForums.com

Will they expose the other modes? Even simple things like a delay, or starting and stopping movie exposure would be nice.

Those kind of things may result huge amount of code. But I wish Pentax have the resources to make image sync total commander.

Latest version available is 1.1.7 Updated April 13, 2018.

I downloaded it a n hour or so ago but have not had a chance to connect it to a camera yet. the user interface looked pretty much the same but maybe the camera control section has been improved.
