According to auto claimed coucher economist specialists, Pentax is doomed since 20 years, Nikon is dead since 10 years, Sony cameras are dead at the end of the year, and Canon will survive making photocopiers until the Sun blows the Earth and then everything will be dead (except one Elon Musk car).

K-2 and GRIII this autumn would be solid release to be afloat for some time...

I think it will be new APS-C high class camera.

FF will be K-1 forever - K-1II, K-1III, K-1IV - like Canon's Marks.

Would that mean no K3 type replacements after K2.

So much speculation! Financial reports only tell the story of the tip of the iceberg. Factual, but much of the underlying story missing. Unless you're in a company's higher level management, your guess is as good as mine. That's why I'm not guessing anything.

Survival is living, don't you know. I've heard too many say that Pentax is dying, and I disagree. I would love to see it be the headliner that it was when I bought my first Pentax back in the 80s.

Only people in Ricoh knows. If they provided a detailed notes to the financial statements then maybe I Can make a conclusion. As for now, I'd rather take pictures and wait and see what happens.

Yes, the lure of the K-1 is what has brought me back to the forums today . I'm already feeling the urge to reinvest in photography after a dry spell of a few years.
I agree complete - me also.

Ricoh is Ricoh , they are not Nikon , Canon or Sony. To survive , they choose their battle. At this moment get a great FF and some new lens

If you want them dead, ask them to do all this at the same time: mirrorless, APSC , FF, medium Camera, 10 lens per year, GR ,etc.

Nothing different than in any familly , you have to make choice if you do not want to go bankrupt.
