Just a thought... Still no news from Samsung. Could it be that they are going for a double hit by hyping Pentax's new low end model and then releasing a new high-end Samsung here. I'm still hopeful.

I am also hoping that their "super tele" is a 500mm F/4 and that they continue to produce the 300mm F2.8.

I look forward to all the anouncements from the big show!!

Unlikely, there were interviews a few days ago about the delay in Samsung's DSLR program. It looks like their entry model won't be ready until 2009, and their planned model line up won't be complete until 2010. A bit disappointing from a electronics giant such as Samsung.

I may be buying a KM as a Christmas gift to myself. From what little I've read on it, it sounds like the second body that I've been wanting.

That 15 would make a nice complement to my DA35. It might very well wind up replacing the 12-24, as one thing I'm not crazy about with the 12-24 is it's size, especially on the front end.

From what I'm gathering, Pentax (thanks to Hoya) is getting ready to compete BIG-TIME! I'm looking forward to seeing how much squirming the big 2 will be doing in the next year.

Not according to the very modest sales projection by Hoya though....

I second the opinion that DA*55 will show a glimps of the future. If this first DA* prime will be best of breed then the 550Euro MSRP it's not that high and we can look further to more superlenses. ATM no one knows for sure if it's FF or not but this pricing suggests great confidence from Pentax. Even more so does the 1299 Euro for the DA*60-250 ...

I'm thinking that's maybe the minimum target they're aiming for, not the overly-positive outlook. Like I always say, the key to happiness in life is lower expectations, but going full-tilt in what you do.

Yes, 1299 Euros inc. tax. Street prices will be less after a while of course.
