I have seen the new stuff...

...but will it make everyone happy? I don't know. It's hard to please everyone of course.

The sub-K200D model looks nice to me. But not much information is given about it; nothing is said about the sensor. However, it is absolutely not underspecced when compared to the K200D. There are also new lightweight kit lenses to go with it. The name of this model is entirely new and is not KXXXD or KXXXXD.

There are new * lenses too. I'm happy with the lenses they will be presenting. The lenses are available this year.

The SDM converter is for real and looks like a perfect addition to me.

There is a new Limited lens.

A P-TTL ringflash is available later this year.

The Lens Roadmap is updated too. There is a tantalizing new entry on it...

I cannot say more I'm afraid (although I do not have a NDA), but everything I wrote here is true. No news on a K20D Super or higher though. Who knows, they will probably be presenting it under glass.

For me the new SDM converter is the one with more interest from the new items.

Good to know that Pentax has at least something in their sleeves. If they havent announced anything at all it would be bad thing from customers point of view.

Indeed. One thing that struck me most is that with this news, they will solidify their name as a "prime" brand. Exactly what I like about Pentax: their primes.

I did not say that... But I think in these times, a camera with a fixed focal length kit lens is not easily sellable.

New Series?

A NEW Series? Are you serious?? :-)

Anyway, I trust you for what you reported. It seems that Hoya/Pentax know that the name of the K cameras have not been so reputable for the time since it marketed and thus they need a new name for a better camera that might have been evoluted, hopefully and my own wishful thinking!

New series have new AF and metering/exposure systems which have most those persistent old evils eliminated? Pls tell us if you can!

That's of course impossible to tell from a photo. Just a few days and everything will be known.

That was to be expected in those times where everyone has internet. Even Pentax should not forget *not* to publish documents on their site without protecting it from URL fiddlers
