But I thought roman numbers are always capital letters? Lower case letters was not invented until after the roman empire fell. So I'm not so sure K-m equals K-1000.
Ahhh, but the fact the Romans themselves only used capitals does not mean we can't use them to write "roman numbers". In fact lowercase roman numbering is commonly used to number the front matter in books (ie content, preface, etc.).

Of course the K-m = K-1000 theory is essentially speculation at this point, but it makes a nice story, don't you think? ;-)

That "ringflash" is only for macro work AFAIK...I thought it was an odd addition actually...
Generally yes--for macro work---but macro work reallly sucks without a ring flash. I've spent the summer collecting flower photos with an old ring flash in manual mode, with a pocket full of ND filters, and that is no fun.

If you don't slow down and look at the flowers once in a while you are traipsing on the tuilips.

Oh come on. You seriously think the double meaning never crossed their minds?

I think it must have, both now and in 1975.
Ah, but where there is/was a KM there is also a revolutionary K2.
I owned and loved one for many years----A truly great camera for its time.

I've seen some nice portrait work done with ring flashes as well.

And a KX, too, right? Apparently KII just didn't look right.

Of course, the new version of the KX is the K10D, seeing as X is 10 in Roman numerals. I mean, while we're juggling conspiracy theories here...

There is one BIG minus thing in K-m - only one central AF point or automatic selection, no manual selection

If it's true...It's no good.

I just don't think those not into macro understand how we have been missing a Pentax ring flash. It's definitely on my list now, and it also mean I wont look for a compromise solution with a manual flash or so, but save the money to get the real one.

I don't think a comment like this has any place on this board. Not to mention that it shows an enormous ignorance of history and human nature.

Ben didn't promissed anything he was making a "bet" based on his ideas and feelings at the time. Besides you were the one that claimed "the FF is comming, 645D soon after" so why you're upset now on Ben?

Snitching implies reporting wrongdoing, so you obviously are aware of your own wrong actions.

Agreed. It's even quite ironic since, for all intents and purposes, I consider Siberia to be part of the Western world (via the old Soviet association).

In any case, racism and prejudices do nothing more than create divides between people, something the world ill needs.
