Very useful to hang off the tripod on those windy days

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet. Asahi Man posted on it a while back: DA* updates in September. There's the new 16-50 patent, if they also refreshed the 50-135, alongside a preproduction glass enclosed 11-18, and a mockup K-3 III... That would be nice

That would be nice indeed!! I could actually use a new DA*16-50...

Concerning the 11-18, there's already a first prototype that was functional. I tried it on my K-3II (no pictures allowed however, I had to remove my SD card) in March during the Imaging Days in Brussels. I expect Photokina to show an evolved and more final version. Hopefully, this time we will be allowed to take pictures?

remember - DA* zooms will be updated...as for K-3II's replacement - there are no K-3II in the stores from this spring.
I doubt in mockup...if they didn't planed the update this year, no any sense to cut sales.

There were such info from Asahiman. The first - DA*zooms will be updated, then DA* primes.

16-50mm f/2.8 patent application, potentially that of the revamped DA?: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

I forget where his original comment was.

Yes.

The K-1ii is priced between the Nikon D750 and D810, and around the Sony A7 III.

I would love to see a full-frame Pentax that tackled the price range of the Nikon D610 or the older-generation Sony Alphas (which continue to sell years and years later, pushing the price for a new, entry-level FF camera close to $1000.)

A brand new FF with 24MP sensor, killer ISO performance, fast buffering and UHS II, much much improved AF, and everything else same as the original K1... BUT.. I guess that ain't going to happen in a short time
I really hope not. Cannot imagine camera less needed.....

Not if it's a mirrorless camera with K mount, in which case Pentax would be the best MILC offering of the market.
A K-mount mirrorless with EVF would certainly be interesting to see. Although K-mount would somewhat impose some undesirable constraints on a ML, it's probably the only realistic way Pentax could be make the jump into ML. A K-mount ML would still be preferable to no ML at all...

I would be very surprised to see anything like that on the short term, but who knows ?
