Originally posted by phoebus I've been 'merged' twice while doing the same job. Both times with much larger companies. After the third time my Division had become part of an ever-larger company the new owners, resentful of our intractable adherence to the original ethical standard, fired most of the mid-level employees who actually do the work. It took five years but the Division has finally* changed.
The corollary is, if you want to keep an ethical standard you keep the mid-level employees who actually do the work.
