I beg to differ on the Olympus 75-300.
My 75-300 is version 2,I own first and 2nd versions of 55-300 Pentax lenses. The Olympus is excellent...

The PL 100-400 you refer to, has issues,i wouldnt go near it.

The Panasonic version 1 and 2 of the 100-300 is considered lessor than the version ii 75-300.Version 2 Pany is WR though.

For me, it is a confirmation, that the new top high end Sony APSC e-mount camera (supposedly an APSC version of the stellar A9) is where I am headed.
WR may not be very good, explore the menu system...and go and handle an A7 (the A7000 is coming in that body).Theres another company thats set the Apsc standard a few days ago,I doubt the $$$ony will reach that level.

The rumored Sony top high end APSC body will most likely not feature a A6500 type body, but a new body. Whether it will be weather sealed, I have no idea, but very possible.

Please supply us with the supporting documentation for this opinion. I've never read anything as to when they actually started development, only that they just started which could mean anything.
How about the interview with Ricoh/Pentax from CP+ 2018, march, published here on Pentax forums:"....we are now starting to develop a new DSL which can be positioned as a successor to the K3 series...."

I'm not sure what to make of Asahiman's quote. Certainly the full frame lenses seems positive. The idea of replacing top end APS-C with entry level full frame, while possible seems to be not the smartest thing.

I would say that Asahiman knows what information he has been fed. He is based in Europe (Germany, I believe) and clearly Japan doesn't tell North America and Europe all of the things they are working on. I don't think that he is deliberately wrong, but I would say that there may be things in the pipeline that he doesn't know about that are still on their way.

It is rumored to possibly be a A7 type body, (which b.t.w. is fine with me, I very much enjoy the handling of the A7rII, and I have used K5/K5IIs and K3), but it highly likely a new body.

The weather sealing is definitely something Sony has some work to do on.

Yes, now, $$$ony are into making $$$(ha ha,thats Y i put that prefix on my posts).

So,with a bigger body(A7iii size) that is less prone to over heating, takes the Z series battery and fits the battery grip.I couldnt see $$$ony making a new body...their production line just churns out the same body for Apsc/FF eventually.

When the A7000 is announce it wouldnt surprise to hear the discontinuation of A6000 and price reduction on A6300/A6500.

Rumours are loose on A7000 price, only one ive seen is U$1299.That may be way off?

With all the lenses they could build (like a prime UWA FF), why do a 100-450 when they already have a 150-450??

The DFA 150-450 costs $1700 - way out of my budget. I got to a 100-450 by thinking of 'expanding" the DA 55-300 PLM, which costs $360; I was hoping they could make a lens I could afford even at greater length and image circle.

Maybe so, but they have a bad reputation. I'd never buy one.
Then you miss out on some wonderful glass! My 17-70 was fine and a good performer and my DA*50-135 is amazing. There are others that get some love even with SDM failures. I sold my 217-70 due to duplication of focal lengths but will keep the 50-135 as long as I have a body that fits it.

So what you are saying is they only STARTED when he mentioned it in the interview? I listened to the interview and also read what Adam wrote in his report, "Given that the Pentax K-3 (APS-C flagship) line was launched over 4 years ago, we also asked about plans for a successor to the K-3 II. Ricoh confirmed that such a model is now being developed, and that the KP is in fact not going to be positioned as the most advanced APS-C model. We can only speculate about a concrete release date.". So it is my contention that we really don't know exactly what the gentleman meant by "Now Starting".

Indeed. Could have been a year prior, 6 months prior, or the day before the interview.

I didn't ask your explanation.
My question was another.

Why do you think that he laughs and why do you think that it's his main idea - to laugh under Pentaxian?

So which should carry more weight - the man's actual words, or Adam's interpretation of them?
