Originally posted by biz-engineer If you need to buy lenses for Pentax , you can buy the DFA*50, and all other Pentax DFA lenses, and all other Pentax lenses you don't already own. Then, once you are done with buying all the Pentax lenses, you can come back here and say you want to buy the Sigma and Tamron lenses and complain because they aren't available for the k mount. Unfortunately, those Sigma lenses aren't available for the Leica SL, this is so frustrating for Leica owners.
I'm sure this seems like a perfectly reasonable alternative for those with very, very deep pockets. For me personally, third party lenses offer the opportunity to purchase quality glass for a fraction of the cost of Pentax glass. I bought my Tammy 70-200 f2.8 for a price that meant I could have bought a new K-1 to go with it and still have change from the price of the Pentax 70-200. Sure, it's a bit clunky in comparison, but optically it is excellent and more importantly, I have it whereas I just could never have the Pentax.
It is a real shame that Sigma and Tamron are not putting K mounts on their lenses any more. Nothing can be done about it, but being disappointed is perfectly reasonable.
