My guess is that Dragonfly could be a drone or a macro lens.

Sigma is supposed to announce 5 (!) new lenses at Photokina:
28mm f1,4
40mm f1,4
70-200 f2,8
60-600mm f4,5-6,3
56mm f1,4.
And as you probably have guessed: neither of those lenses will be available for Pentax. The 56mm is a mirrorless lens, so obviously not for Pentax, but the rest are all FF DSLR lenses that would suit the K-1 well, especially the fast primes. :-(

Having used the classic Bigma 50-500 many years on my K-5/5IIs I would love this updated Bigma version of 60-600 on K-mount! But I'm not willing to open another thread with the same whinning again for Sigma not supporting K-mount anymore. I feel they loose on the long term and I believe this, not just saying it because I'm a Pentaxian.

Hair. Pack a sufficiently bodacious bouffant and the bullet need come nowhere close to your flesh while making full penetration.

Which leads to that famous movie quote "Don't worry, It's only a hair wound"

If you need to buy lenses for Pentax , you can buy the DFA*50, and all other Pentax DFA lenses, and all other Pentax lenses you don't already own. Then, once you are done with buying all the Pentax lenses, you can come back here and say you want to buy the Sigma and Tamron lenses and complain because they aren't available for the k mount. Unfortunately, those Sigma lenses aren't available for the Leica SL, this is so frustrating for Leica owners.

I'm sure this seems like a perfectly reasonable alternative for those with very, very deep pockets. For me personally, third party lenses offer the opportunity to purchase quality glass for a fraction of the cost of Pentax glass. I bought my Tammy 70-200 f2.8 for a price that meant I could have bought a new K-1 to go with it and still have change from the price of the Pentax 70-200. Sure, it's a bit clunky in comparison, but optically it is excellent and more importantly, I have it whereas I just could never have the Pentax.

It is a real shame that Sigma and Tamron are not putting K mounts on their lenses any more. Nothing can be done about it, but being disappointed is perfectly reasonable.

So some will say Pentax is doomed again. But the funny thing is, Pentax keeps coming up with the new DFA 50, free upgrade of the k-1 to k-1II, upcoming 11-28, and the much awaited DFA 85. Products aren't coming in that fast but, it seems like quality products.Hmmm, it seems that Pentax is just undooming itself. Hmmm....... Maybe Sigma should make these lenses in the k-mount and join the doomed club. Hmmmm.

Upgrade of K-1 to K-1II is not free. 500 EURO or 500 USD.
11-28 is postponed till 2019. And as for DFA85 - there is no any info about this lens at all. No even mock-up. It will be someday - we hope.

For me, I cannot imagine purchasing, then lugging, the new 'fat' DFA* 50. I cannot imagine anytime I would want that much perfection for. If I wanted f/1.4, I'd use a Takumar 50 f/1.4 and put up with the adapter. The shortage of reasonably priced DFA lenses is why I initially dismissed the thought of going FF. Fortunately I have a sufficient collection of reasonably priced older lenses that I could go either FF or APS without having to think of purchasing new ones.

I don't think these facts are 'doom', they're simply the facts.

Perhaps they'll show us mockups of both lenses next week and we'll get an update of their plans though. Communication is really a factor if you're zoomed in to the 'image' like we are on this forum. We're all company pixel peepers. And not just PF but all brand and product oriented forum goers on the internet. So our perspective is a bit different. Not wrong, just a different view.

For the average guy who doesn't frequent these places, they don't know and they likely don't really care.

I use FA43/1.9, DA50/1.8 and to say honest - I don't need DFA*50/1.4 for FF at all. I've sold my FA50/1.4 and A50/1.2 many years ago and no any regrets.

Do keep in mind Sigma and Tamron offer exactly zero lenses for Fuji and Sigma only has a handful for MFT.

I am not trying to offer comfort, I am just saying other brands are neglected too and they are not singling out Pentax for neglect.

To be honest they didn't have to give away multiple camera bodies to get the post count up, all that is needed is a few well placed thread titles and hey presto.

Indeed, I imagine they are running at near full production just producing for Canon, Nikon and Sony mount. (notice I don't include Sigma's own mount as I would guess they sell less lenses than the few in Pentax mount despite having the full range)
