Yes, what ogl said, and Ricoh cameras have mostly been K mount, there have also been Leica M modules, for example. Although in some instances a little incompatible: e.g the infamous Ricoh pin.

The $ 7,500 pricepoint was not linket to a APS-C.
I don't remember seeing anything about APS-C --- which is the point. There was just a few random specs that people could use to rationalize whatever fantasies were afflicting their brains.

Didn't they also say the Q wasn't dead?
Their words could be interpreted as "we will continue to sell Q-S1 as long as you continue to purchase them".

But this contributed nicely to us reaching the target for the august raffle.

Carl Garrard and Rush2112, the OP of the thread below, are the same person and the rumour's substance, or lack thereof, is also the same:

Photokina, Ricoh has Confirmed - PentaxForums.com
Same rumor, different day. Under NDA...not under NDA...credible?

Typical rumors snowball effect. He's probably believing that his snowball will bring a real product ...
Garrard is a blogger who is trying to revive his readership. Pity he let the domain lapse for his personal Web site. I was curious about his work and what he actually shoots with.

Carl Garrard is a Pentaxian once again - he bought a K-70 and I don't know how many lenses.
He says: "Yes I have adopted the Pentax DSLR system again as my main DSLR system, that's just how good the K70 is so far. But there will be other news...".

Let's welcome his return.

Yes, the APS-C flagship with the 50 MP sensor, 8.3 fps, and the $7,500 price point. Can't wait for that to come out!
I believe the price point was just under $1100 on the strange Adorama post.

At this point I'm quite certain when Photokina comes around, Pentax will release a Purple Monkey Dishwasher.

Ongoing Pentax Information Embargo Explained

By now everyone should know Pentax once created a small Black Hole* in their product development labs. Hoya attempted to acquire this technology but control was lost when Pentax optical engineers were poached to Hoya and Hoya was nearly sucked into the Void. Hocir has managed to ring fence the Pentax Star Effect at the Tokyo Headquarters building.

The Event Horizon extends as far as the Marketing Department and the employees who write new product description text. All interesting information about plans, products, alliances, sales, profits, and any other useful data is created inside the company Event Horizon, preventing any effective brand management at Global Divisions. NDA’s have a mini Worm Hole attachment that would immediately draw a violater back to Japan at Terminal Velocity.

* and now we understand the deep symbolism of the Star lens designation and the *ist cameras.
