I have been thinking a new k3+ needs a new sensor and there wasn't one. At least no one chimed in when I asked.
This story also comes out soon before photokina.
These points lend credence to the rumor in my opinion.
Maybe there will be an announcement about a future k3+.
Hopefully we will hear something in the next two weeks.

Every morning, this section is the first place I go, because Japan's business day largely overlaps my sleeping hours ..... but I'm still patiently waiting.

A nice thing about this rumor is that it provides a reason other than incompetence to explain the dearth of K-3 cameras for sale ..... integrating a modern Samsung sensor might have taken longer than they anticipated.

Pentax cannot compete against Sony as long as they use Sony sensors. Nikon had to dump Sony to go mirrorless for instance. If it is for the good, go for it.
No proof they ever did. A tear down of D850 showed sony part number on the sensor.

Also since Sammy can fab both sensor and processor there might be better integration.

I'm sorry, I don't understand use of "isp" in this context.

Since Samsung have pulled out of making cameras that can't make phone calls, i'd like to see Pentax use their sensors - especially if they could get some sort of mutual benefit relationship going

I don't care how they announce it - but many K-3/5/7 users here are getting nervous - they would like information before the end of Photokina.

Yes,the "nervousness" of not knowing might be concerning. Not for me,i'm in the other systems but if RI lets us know they have something that rivals what is available or will be soon, then its worth considering.

This is another rumour site in Korea.

A report of Samsung returning to the camera market as well.
They relay an article written by Andrew Reid for EOS HD:

Samsung eying return to camera market as Galaxy smartphone shipments fall - EOSHD

which reports unspecified rumours:

Yes, i saw it on a rumour site...sometimes these can be "wild" or "mild"!

From what ive seen,a lot are quite accurate and some have no credibility.

On the subject of Samsung providing sensors though, thats 100% credible.I read it in a statement they made late last year,i cant recall the place i saw it.The likelyhood of the sensor in the XT3 being a Sammy is high(ive seen it mentioned). The new Panasonic FF is rumoured to be a Sammy sensor.

Something significant to RI using Sammy is the cost, rumoured to be 70% the cost of $$$ony.
