^ Unsurprisingly, I'm afraid.

It's clearly time for Pentax to focus on the volume and leave higher end to later, hopefully more positive economic environments.

Looking at the roadmap, on the level of DA*60-250 but just after it to the right is a square sign saying: DA Super telephoto.
Does it mean that they are planning something like 300 or 400 non DA*? or is it just description of something else on that I'm missing?

Probably in line with the other DA limited pancakes.

Regarding the super telephoto lens, I'm hoping DA* 400/4. Or they could make a re-release of the FA* 300/2.8 with sealing and SDM. Maybe we'll know more at PhotoKina, or shortly after.

In line.... that ranges from £199 (DA40) - where I'd be quite interested do £300 (DA70) where I'm not so interested... let's hope it's going to be closer to the first one...
I wouldn't mind DA400 f5.6 though f4 would be better. And it doesn't need to be DA*

The road map is very similar to the old one except the new super tele.
So, somehow, the DA's lens road map seems finalize (may add 11-16 DA* in the future).
How well does it compare to others?
What do you think ?

How about a 300 mirror Limited in small format :-)

But I owuld guess it is a replacement of the old 600, that is still built on order. Whether they will replace that with another 600, or a 400, we will see I guess. a 400/4 would probably be popular with the advanced, while a 400/5.6 would be easier to sell.

I think that they have the best lens lineup available for users of cropped-format cameras and a severely-lacking lineup for full-frame cameras. Which basically is the reverse of Canon and Nikon, who still haven't filled most of the holes that opened up when they introduced the smaller sensor.

That said, I think they need to add a super-wide option (9mm rectilinear prime) to serve as a 14mm does in the larger format. Follow that with some longer telephoto primes and more fast DA* short primes like the 30 and 55 and I think they've got everything you could ask for.

I'm still scratching my head over the lack of a Pentax version of the 11-16. Hopefully they'll permit Tokina to make one.

As for the 15mm pricing, I expect it to fall between the DA 21mm and the DA35 macro in price. Just a guess.

I doubt with the fact its marked as a DA and not a DA* that the new tele will be anything earth shattering. I would go away from all the current speculation here to suggest its probably a commercial zoom.

Also keeping in mind 'super-tele' on APS-C marketing is like 300mm (already FoV of 450mm on 35mm) and up, it could easily be a 100-300mm DA SDM for the budding birders in the pro-sumer patch. Consider the current body announcement and line-up and set your expectations accordingly.

Perhaps next year will be the year of addressing the K2 and 'pro' glass.
