Depends on your needs. For big insects the 300 + TC is a good option. But for smaller animals it's scale of 0,36 is not enough. And the working distance of the 100 frequently makes that you don't get the shot (animal flew away).
I normally use the F100 and the DA*300 for macro of insects, both almost always with the TC 1,4x. To have the option of scale of 1:1 with 150mm, and 1,4 with the TC added, is interesting for me.
