Uh huh. Pros using CMOS DSLRs (any brand) never complained about colors being off with their cameras.

If CMOS is such a disgrace, no decent camera manufacturer would have even considered putting it in their cameras.
There are some prblems reported in DPReview Canon forum

In fact. it is so small and light I have already lost two of them...
Maybe they will make it bigger and with something like a keycord.....

I believe many hates AA because they believe that they don't last long.
But in the K-m, they last longer (according to the specifications) than the non-AA batteri in the K10D etc. So for the K-m, I don't understand the fear of AA batteries.
I hated AA until I got me some eneloops....
Problem with any old AA at the shop is that you are never sure how charged they are, I had reputable AA last only 50 shots, while "bad"brands sometimes lasted a few hundred

What about Sony's and Panasonic's sensors? Surely this must be due to bad sensor and/or image processing engine design than actual flaws of CCD versus CMOS technology?

Of course, I could be wrong about things, but I really do think CMOS tech, by itself, isn't that atrocious when it comes to color rendition.

To launch K-m is very smart move from Pentax.

All small cameras from other brands are not new at the market.
There are no new small entry-level cameras from another brand close to Christmas.
Nikon D90 is higher class and more expensive, A900 and 5D Mk II are top FF.
Panasonic G1 has higher price!!!

If Pentax K-m will be in first 10 places on Japan DSLR market - it will be great success.
everybody can check it here close to November

I guess, being Japanese they saw how fiat money was destroying the US economy like theirs was destroyed in the 90's. Could you imagine trying to sell a high priced camera just as a recession was starting? On the Pentax Japan site, PENTAX, it's obviously marketed to females. Probably more luck than planning though...
Has anyone found the pdf owner's manual yet? Please notify me if you found it somewhere.

Yeah, on the site, there's actually a shot of a woman dropping a K-m into a purse that also has a TOMATO in it. (?????!)

I can't understand Japanese culture.

I do think that's supposed to be a bag of groceries, not a purse. But it does look strangely like the camera is being inserted into the tomato.

Never mind weather-proofing, is the K-m fruit-proof?

Yes. So I can accurately focus in small DOF situations with a subject off-centre. I take shots like this all the time. Focus-recompose is inaccurate.
I can live with 5 points but not being able to select them is just a slap in the face. It costs NOTHING and really, well, that just $hits me to be honest.

Are you a newbie? No? Why complaining about a camera which is in no way made for you?

But they do not re-charge, that is why LIon makes so much sense.

because I want the smaller size and not being able to select an AF point is just childish from any camera manufacturer.
