K-m / K2000D preview on DPR

Have a look at: Pentax K-m / K2000 announced and previewed: Digital Photography Review

Do you think this product will be able to stand up against the EOS 1000D and/or the D40x or to the E-420?

No LV, heavier, less flash, it does have SR.
Does it have any sex appeal to you?

I hate when they have different names for the same product in different markets... Until now in DSLR world Canon was alone with its Rebel nonsence. Now Pentax joined the club...

To answer your question. It could, but...
I don't think there is anything to set it apart, really... well maybe the in body SR (C&N don't have it). But for my part, I expected something bit different, shame...

A bit of chrome and extra 0.5 fps in burst mode?

If the price crawls towards 500USD without lenses, I would buy the K-m/K2000 body. Looking forward to hold and try it out. When are they planing to ship this one out to local stores/retailers?

Edit: Found out that the K-m is available from Oct./Nov. here in Norway.
Edit2: And the price: K-m kit 18-55mm 4495NOK. K-m kit2 18-55mm/50-200mm 5495NOK. That's about 780 and 960 USD.
