46 min Interview with Ricoh's Mr. Baus (in German) from Photokina 2018

From Photokina 2018:

Stephen Obermeier interviews Mr. Wolfgang Baus (Product Manager & Group Leader Marketing D/A/CH, Press- and Media Relation)

Maybe some wants to use the Youtube feature which auto generates a transscript and then translates it to English.

Provides some extra insights.

As far as my german language understanding goes. This kind a underlines what has been going on. and will be. Seems that lot of effort has and will be put to FF, also remark of K-P IS new K-3 kind a underlines that. they talked a bit of mirrorless things and video, but it is in sidelines. as usual. But there was a lot to be expected in 2019. He seemed quite excited about it. talking about LX too..?

one thing what was annoying, was that interviewer interupted good marketing talk near end. Wolfgan was about to say something, but no. I'm happy for these news.

Unfortunately, my German is limited to ordering beer (and, with my recent Photokina trip, upgraded to order the proper sized beer ("ein großes Kolsch, bitte!").
Anyone kind enough to translate the important bits? Thanks in advance.

So is LX a new FF? That would set the Forum keyboards afire.

LX?!

Now there's a thought

Weatherproof, multiple screen interchangeability, maybe even sensor (if I recall rollei had an interchangeable film format camera about 20 years ago)

Call it the CX

Well that was hard to really tell, because they were talking about 100 anniversary, and LX. There will perhaps be new FF...
again, my Germany is not really good.

But definetly FF is where they will be putting lot of effort and has been putting, because K-1 has been so good.

I think he said something about a 100 year commemorative model with that name. FWIW, my German sucks and the transcript is not very helpful. I am hoping for a point-by-point digest from a native-German speaker.

Addendum: At 22:38ff he returns to the subject of a K-3 successor. A good translation of 22:38 - 23:46 would be helpful, I believe.

My pure speculation. "New LX" = possibility of OVF and EVF, one on camera second in your pocket?

Well it is already possible to use phone as remote trigger/LV. Have no idea what they were referring with that 'LX' thou just the 100th anniversary?

He says the KP is the followup of the K3 2 for HIM (as he sees it) and that there is a new APS-C in the works for 2019 for the 100 years anniversary, that it will be not a K3 3 but a completely new top of the line APS-C model that will make many K1 users to want one of them guess because of the feature sets which are not mentioned.

This is much more then the other interview mentioned on the subject and at least for me a VERY positive point, we can hope for great new camera to come next year!

He mentioned that they need to work on AF and that part of the solution is with better lenses like the new 50mm.

I mean option of removing OVF with prism and mounting EVF instead when you want/need.

Whatever Pentax releases to celebrate the first 100 years should obviously not be called Pentax LX. That was how they celebrated the 60th anniversary (released in 1980 even if the anniversary was in 1979!). The appropriate model name for the 100th anniversary would be Pentax C.
