That's silly. I think it's far more likely they're just licencing out the k mount to zenit, or zenit is building on the k platform.

Bingo. This is very likely the reason if something like this is materializing. I have a friend in Moscow and stuff from out of country can be way out of line for average people because of import duties to Russia.

I think this is cool personally, would love to see this actually happen. Maybe I'd be able to finagle one for myself

{I don't want to start a political discussion here, but} an advantage of all the crude oil being carried by train through Chicagoland is that crude is unlikely to become that expensive again.

Didn't know that... I thought Missouri had the best petrol prices in the midwest, speaking of trains Glenview is supposed to have some more tracks but the community is against it. In any case I do hope the Russians/Ukrainians/Belorussians make more K mount lenses.
