Yet one of it's images sold over $2000 in images for us. About a 7:1 cost to value ratio. How's your "proper" camera doing?

I get really tired of folks who read a couple of specs and then act like they know something.
I had Optio W for a long time...Even 20*30 cm printed photos look not very good.

It arived and looks like it is identical to the wg-50 wich was already a copy of the one before. This is a camera developed in 2014. Good work.

The fact that they still make this indicates that it must still be profitable to do so. The WG series seems to be a consistent seller.

In fact, there is one new feature. It is mentioned on the Japanese product page but not in any of the English material. The WG-60 now has a mode compliant with a specific Japanese building regulation. I think it is something to do with being able to ensure that pictures taken as evidence of building damage are not tampered with afterwards. I have quite frequently seen construction workers with WG cameras, so this makes sense. It may mean the camera serves a double purpose and they don’t need to make the G-800 series in the future.

Interesting niche there, but you see things like that. I can see how a camera like this becomes popular in a specific field where "everyone knows everyone", and word of mouth spreads populariy - "Joe dropped the sucker in a pile of rubble, and unlike x brand, it kept working. I need to get one of those."

WG60 could be made in strong way...But it seems to me there is some balance between low price for this camera and features. But it could be the best-seller.
Hard to say why Ricoh can't add to WG more pleasant things like bigger sensor, better lens and AF, video and RAW...Let it be 350-370 USD.

Probably it is still word making because not much money is invested in improviseren the camera. Keeps it cheap to make after all these years.

As long as there's a replacement for my old Optio W90 when it finally fails I'm a happy camper. There's nothing wrong with buying the same camera twice if you like the camera.

It's not even that different from the WG-30 from 2014.

And if it was much different, "OMG! Those ba&&@^ds are working on irrelevant toys like this instead of the K-3 II's replacement! Aaaaaaaaargh!"
JPT most likely nailed the reason for a new version.

The lens was already used for the Pentax WG-10, almost 6 years ago announced.

Pentax WG-10: Digital Photography Review

They only had ccd sensor then. That changed with the Ricoh WG-30 to cmos.

Most smaller companies do this: Leica has the T and the TL (only difference was 16gbs of on camera memory)….or the Leica "P" versions (difference in color or body decals, etc.) of their M-series ) (M8-P, M9-P, M-P, etc.--all have the same innards). Pentax needed to produce something for Photokina and released this and the RIcoh GS.

The best camera in this class is the Olympus Tough TG-5. It's the only one that checks off all the boxes. Small rugged water/weatherproof. Sensor stabilization. RAW file support. The Olympus is also $450US.

It's not that case when you can play the role of Ricoh's advocate.
If they would make really new WG, it would be amazing for EVERY Pentax fan and user.
