New Pentax APS-C camera rumored for the 2019 cp show: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

^ Looks like it will be here soon. Seems to be the K-3II replacement, but more like something completely new. I'm excited!
Reference is to PentaxRumors quoting a post on Pentax Forums from a member who heard something at a Ricoh/Pentax Roadshow stop. No follow-up comment to the post.

Not unless it devolves into talk about grilling bacon.

Odd.

The thread cited by Pentax Rumors was actually closed due to lack of information and folks sniping at each other. Seems unlikely that this thread would be much different.

That said, Pentax is due for a new APS-C camera and I would be surprised if we don't see one next year. The odds of it satisfying everyone who is currently waiting for an updated APS-C camera however is nil, because it would have to be both bigger and smaller than the current K3 body, feature 4K video (or maybe actually not have video at all), and a design that is both mirrorless and SLR.

Sounds like Schrödinger's camera. It comes in a box that should not be opened otherwise the wave function collapses (along with the hopes and dreams of many).

Don't forget that it must also accept (with suitable adapter) both 35mm and 120 film; that being perfectly doable, of course, with a simple firmware fix.

As a former software developer, I'm surprised at the number of users who think that "simple firmware fix" is one word {sound like some former bosses of mine}.

From the Wiki page: "It is also not without risk – improper production can lead to illness and death through botulism."

Pentax is doomed?
