Great. Then people would be able to write "Tamron 70-210" on their newly bought Pentax lens, and pretend that's the truth.

Hello Ricoh, can you hear me?: a light weight weather sealed 70-200 for my Pentax K-1 II would be welcome. Thanks.

I have a couple Tamron lens caps... that would work, too

It may be speculation, but it is based on some good predictions (road map, etc): the 70-200/4 is being worked on for the Pentax FF. If that's the case, perhaps later this year or early next year there will be a good lightweight counterpart to the 28-105.

Isn't it scheduled for "2019 spring"? That doesn't necessarily means it will be announced faster than "2019" lenses but unless Ricoh says otherwise, expect it this year.

Australian spring 2019? No, Austrian spring 2019.

Please remind me, is Ricoh an Australian, or an Austrian company?

You will know in 8 weeks to five months. FF is confirmed.

The roadmap changing without notice doesn't necessarily mean all lenses being delayed into oblivion.
Have a bit of patience; it will be updated soon, and some announcements will be made.

The Nikon 70-200 f4 weighs 30 ounces; the Sony 70-200 f4 weighs 29.6 ounces; the Tokina 70-200 f4 weighs 31.7 ounces. In other words, the typical 70-200 f4 zoom lens comes in at nearly twice the weight of the DFA 28-105 (15.5 ounces). Hardly a lightweight counterpart! It will only be lightweight in comparison with the DFA* 70-200 f2.8.

The roadmap says it will be available in the spring. Despite all the hand-wringing about lens delays with Ricoh-Pentax, I'd say there's a pretty good chance we'll see it in the spring. It's the star lenses that get delayed. This is not a star lens, so better chance of not getting delayed.

That is what I meant, because we can’t have the impossible, but Pentax can make a quality lens of its own that is at least comparable to its rivals.
