Would this help ease the pain of waiting? Manual focus is the only downside.

Again the Laowa 105mm f/2 Smooth Trans Focus (STF) – LAOWA Camera Lenses is a k mount solution without autofocus if that works.
I'm pretty sure Frederic already owns the Laowa, which when I commented on his posts with it affectionately call it the STFU.

A bit too early for that - I think a CP+ announcement (end of February) is likely.
DFA* 85 F1.4 Feb 2020

DFA 70-200 F4 prototype in Feb 2020, release in fall

DFA* 24 1.4 2021

All guessing of course, but I'm often right. Just ask my wife.

Any news on this lens? I am extremely interested since I don't have any focal longer than 77mm and the 70-200 f/2.8 is too expensive for me at the moment. Also I'm doing some hiking so it might be too heavy to carry around for landscapes (the f/2.8).
What body do you use? I find the 55-300mm works very well with the KP, which handles the needed higher ISO very well.

Just buy a Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM and a Canon camera or a Yongnuo YN 100mm f/2 and a Canon or a Nikon camera.
And for Pentax (with AF) ?

I have this lens, very heavy, also I would prefer AF and I'm not in hurry

There is none as of today and there won't be any for a very long time.

Not sure if old lenses with new coatings and slightly different housings should count in this comparison.
Competitors often repackage SLRs lenses to mirrorless so why not...

Perhaps the new 70-200 f4 is actually a 50-200 f4.

DigitalFotoNetz.de :: Thema anzeigen - Pentax 70-300 fullframe im Anmarsch

I know this has already circulated but we really can't tell what the zoom range or aperture is. Unless this rumor has been debunked already.

Well I have something to look for in 2021 then. I hope it will be an awesome lens for Astro.

If your right.

I think that a DFA* 24 1.4 would be a hit.

Wasn't there a rumor of a FF 70-300? I was hoping that would come this coming year.

There was (is?) a full-frame compatible tele-zoom on the roadmap.
There's some uncertainty of the range... is it 55-300 or 70-300 or something else?

The consensus at the time it was shown (February?) was that it would be similar in scope to the 28-105, so not optically fast but hopefully a quick-focusing, high quality, consumer zoom.

It's distinct from the 70-200 f4, but we don't really know anything else about it...

I've been hoping it fell into the "we won't announce it, we'll just start selling it" category some time this year.

Indeed it has been debunked. The OP wrote first about a 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 as being the Telephoto Zoom Lens from the roadmap (not a replacement to the HD Pentax-D FA 70-200mm f/4) because of some joke made by asahi man on the other forum:

K1 Mark III?: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

A few days later asahi man confirmed the picture of an alleged 50-300mm he posted what that of the DFA 150-450mm and added:

There is no real picture about this lens and no information about the new Bodys.

Real Information are maybe late summer available.

There will come a medium class 50 / 70-300 ,but still no exactly schedule or real information about this.

Next lens are 85 and 70-200.
Then the OP modified the title of his thread on DigitalFotoNetz.de, from 'Pentax 50-300 fullframe im Anmarsch' to 'Pentax 70-300 fullframe im Anmarsch' but couldn't or forgot to change the text in one of his posts, in which there is still a reference to a 50-300mm lens.

We are now six months later and, obviously, nothing has happened.

It's more than a rumour. It's the Telephoto Zoom Lens on the roadmap. However Kimio Tanaka thinks it won't come before 2021:

You've heard of Kimio Tanaka before on Pentax Forums. He is this car and celebrity photographer, a bit of a maverick, who interviewed Tetsuya Iwasaki (Manager of the Second Product Planning Section, Product Management Department, Ricoh Imaging) four times during CP+.

Kimio Tanaka has a Twitter account 田中希美男 (@thisistanaka) | Twitter and a blog Photo of the Day. In his blog he posted what he says are his predictions (予想) concerning the six lenses on the K-mount roadmap. I would bet that those are much more than educated guesses.

(...)
6. Telephoto Zoom Lens

Mr. Iwasaki, Planning Manager, did not answer clearly when I asked him many times but it seems to be a 'D FA 70-300mm' or a 'D FA 55-300mm'. Although the maximum aperture value is unknown, it should be around f/4.5-5.6 or f/4.5-6.5, shouldn't it?

You can think of it as a handy FA telephoto zoom lens based on the concepts of small size, light weight and low price. There should be many K-1 / K-1 MkII users waiting for this zoom.

But, unfortunately, the release date should be around 2021. If feasible, that's a lens that ought to be released next year.
