Tokina - AT-X 70-200 F4 FX VCM-S

By the way, here's the current roadmap (with the D FA* 50mm already moved from "summer" inte the lineup):
ricoh-imaging.co.jp/japan/products/lens/images/K_Mount_Lens.pdf#page=2

Expected date: 21st march to 20th june (spring season).
Spring (season) - Wikipedia)
The Tokina is 4 years old.... I hope, for the customers of this kind of lens, in a reworked DA* 60-250.

Well, bring it on. This zoom most likely postponed the 85.

Any news on this lens? I am extremely interested since I don't have any focal longer than 77mm and the 70-200 f/2.8 is too expensive for me at the moment. Also I'm doing some hiking so it might be too heavy to carry around for landscapes (the f/2.8).
The weight question is the one I'm interested in. I've already got a 80-200 F2.8 (a Tokina ATX-Pro one that I've had for about 20 years) but it doesn't get as much use as I'd like because it ways a ton.

Tamron 70-210 f4 is one year old.

And it's 70-210, while the new Pentax will be 70-200. So it isn't that lens.

With focus breathing it's more like 65-190, there is some room to name the lens, with F mount converted to K and the Pentax HD coating. This would allow to have the *85 1.4 earlier.

Except the Tamron-made Pentax lenses are rebadges, and Tamron only has 70-210 stickers

The real focal length of 200 mm zoom could be 190-210 mm.

You're grasping at straws.
AFAIK there's no precedent in Pentax reusing/rebadging another company's lens but with different focal length inscriptions. I'm not going to assume this will suddenly change, just because random people on the Internet likes the idea of the D FA 70-200 f/4 being a Tamron.
Right now it's not a given that it's anything other than a Pentax. We have to wait - perhaps a month and a half - for the basic specs, at the very least.

Is there a patent out for a Pentax 70-200 f4? That would be an early decider of whether it is an entirely Pentax lens, and a new design too.

A patent would need to be registered as I presume the optical design for such a new Pentax lens would be substantially different from the DFA 70-200 f2.8. It could not merely be a shrunken down DFA 70-200 f2.8. The optical design of, for example, the Nikon 70-200 f4 is clearly different from the Nikon 70-200 f2.8, ditto for the Canon f4 and f2.8 70-200's.

Is it possible that the 70-200 is the Tokina so the ‘other’ long telephoto on the roadmap (that I’ve been assuming is probably a 70-300) can be the oft-mentioned DFA rework of the 60-250?

It seems unlikely, but I’ve heard of stranger things...

Just a random thought after chasing too many IT problems today...

70-200 F4 is a lighter more budget friendly alternative for the 70-200 2.8. The 70-300 will alsmost certainly by a F4-5.6ish lens. Maybe derived from the HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE design.

Wouldn't concern me if it was a Tokina as I've had a few of their ATX-Pro lenses and they're very well made.

Focal lengths are taken at infinity focus to avoid the confusion brought about by focus breathing. At infinity the Tamron will be a 70-210 ± a few mm that people will quibble over.
