Yes, I’m aware of that. It still is big surprise. Might be a bit bigger that nofmal ff 70-300 lens. But still compact.? Good news!

In the past few days we’ve seen the revised fisheye from Pentax, and that’s good news...

On the “other” website, there have been pretty significant releases from other manufacturers... is it just that time of year? OEMs getting ready for the holidays?

Should we expect anything else from Pentax in the next few weeks?

Or is it going to be fall?

Just randomly wondering when the 70-200 might show...

Historically, Pentax releases new gear about two weeks after my vacation travels have wrapped up. I expect the lens will be official in the next month with a late September release date, thereby ensuring that I will have almost a full year to get used to it before my next major photo vacation.

That is definitely the "glass is half full" way of looking at potential release dates!

There's the Olympics in Tokyo next year too. I'm expecting new cameras in the fall/spring, and some decent Black Friday deals.

I got tired of waiting and just picked up a Tammy 70-200 f/2.8 in the marketplace. This of course means that the 70-200 f/4 will be released in the next month or so. You're welcome.
