That's the regular price (or at least Amazon lists it as regular price), however, although Ricoh does not have a Spanish online store so I guess the "official" price (despite not being available at that price* anywhere I've looked) is 2299€.

*Ranging from 1399 to 1900€, but one store has it for 2550€ (!)

SRS have it listed as £1,699, so about EUR1970 at todays exchange rate, including tax.

So the European RRP went up from €1,999 in March 2015 to €2,299 whilst the US price went down from $2,299 to $1,799...

Well at least in Brussels I can say Brewdog beers went way up a couple months ago.
IMO in prevision of Brexit.

Yes, they are displayed without sales tax (which differs from state to state and sometimes from county to county).

Therefore €2,299 (20% VAT included) = €1,915.83 without VAT = $2,140 >> $1,799.

-Removed stuff in order not to get political-

The US prices are typically lower, but this is a huge discrepancy if it's officially 2300.

Thank you. I saw the thread teetering on the edge. I was tempted to wade with my own political comments despite knowing politics were off limits... You saved me from myself.

BHP/Adorama and Amazon can probably demand a price point from Ricoh. European retailers aren't big enough for that.

It's a very messy situation all over. Let's leave it at that. This thread has so far kept pretty nicely to the topic at hand and it's not worth risking that.

In that regard, what in lens motor would you guys bet on? New SDM? DC like the DFA tele zooms? I suppose the DC motor in those is different from the one in the 28-105 (mine is definitely louder than the DFA*'s, like a bird chirp), but I am not sure which one would be faster/cheaper/more accurate.
