You never will change your mind will you?

Mr. Kitazawa said that FF camera's share are not higher than 5% of DSLR market and it's hard to compete with big players.
I understand in such ways -
As for digital MF cameras - Pentax has line of lenses and plan to make new.
Pentax name is well-known in professional world of MF. It will be better to play in niche of MF, than try to sell FF on the market where Canon and Nikon are leaders.
He said that new K30D's (?) picture quality can compete with FF cameras.

The priority - 3 lines of DLSR - small low-end, middle and top APS-C and MF.
I heard at German forum that new top APS-C camera will be more professional than K20d (1/8000 and higher fps)...They also said that 645D can be launched on summer 2009 too.

improve their view finder to make it larger if they don't plan on making a FF camera. The K20D view finder is great until you pick up a 5D or D700 and look through it then go back to the K20D
As I understand it, the viewfinder size is directly related to the sensor size, so I'm not sure how they'd do this? Unless they build in a eyepiece magnifier into the viewfinder or something weird like that...

There's no plan to build full sized aircraft, instead Pentax will build cropped version of aircraft, slow and with limited low light capabilities.
Pentax do keep in mind, though, that it is possible to build full size aircraft with all the qualities of other aircrafts, but they decided not to do it at this time.
Wow - so Pentax COULD build a FF camera for the same cost as an APS-C camera, but they just don't WANT to? And to think that all this time, I thought it was an issue of a company with limited resources throwing lots of R&D and development money at 5% of the DSLR market and not having a FF lens lineup! What's wrong with these people?!!!! ;P

The problem is also that Pentax lenses can't work with SR with 24*36 mm sensor.
And it's hard to compete with Nikon or Canon FF.

What trick does Sony perform to have SR in their a900? Is their glass covering a larger circle?

Not wierd at all - thats exactly how they do it. However a 1.5X magnifier would also be 50% dimmer....

Evil Request!

You evil man ;-) Upon your request, I have translated and summed up all the Q & A (minus one) and it has burnt me almost four hours to do it! Here it is:-

RiceHigh's Pentax Blog: Interview with Senior Pentax Official at Photokina

Well, I'd better go to take a bath and sleep now! See you folks tomorrow.

p.s. Will you thank me? :-)

Directly related, yes but not unsolvable: one need to put a bigger prism AND brighter focussing screen.

I'd like to know this as well. I dug a bit in hands-on reviews and there's no mention of it:
Sony A900 Field Report
Sony Alpha DSLR-A900 Digital Camera - Full Review - The Imaging Resource!
The first review mentions using non-HSM lenses on it which I presume are the older ones...

I assume they could do what Olympus had to do with the E-3. All other 4/3's view finders are crap, but on that model they really jacked that magnification up to bring the view finder up to APS-C quality levels. Perhaps Pentax could do something similar to bring their next model up closer to FF levels?

Aircraft??? Ohhh, I'm starting to tremble with anticipation! It's like a Pentaxian pilot's dream come true!

I'm wondering if Pentax's aircraft will come with shake reduction? The weather-proofing will CERTAINLY come in handy!
For backwards compatibility, you will be able to use scimitar props with a Wasp radial. I can' t help myself; I just love the sound of round engines ......
