DP Review puts K-1 Mark II as second worst camera of 2018

Darn it, now I'm going to have to try and prove you can do that.

Hows this? I could barely see the dog, had to change to the DA*55 1.4 to help get enough light to focus.

Is that enough hairs or do you want more?

Already proven.

The other application I could think of seeing details at high ISO, is night vision. Basically, when you go out at night, instead of bringing a headlamp or a torch, you could bring the K1 at its highest ISO and walk while watching its display in Live View mode. I've tried with the DFA28-105 and I could see well on the display when I could not see anything with bare eyes. So I guess the K1 II with my M50 f1.7 wide open will be perfect for walking in the dark without being seen.

but the LCD might give off enough light which would reflect off your face to reveal your location.

True. Fortunately, the K1 has a night mode such that the back LCD turns red, I'd use that mode. But there is an even better solution based on a K1: get the IR filter removed from the sensor, and mount an IR torch on the flash hotshoe. This way, the Pentax K1 becomes a real good night vision device.

The night mode just puts the LCD in monochrome black and red correct? Although reduced it could still output enough light to illuminate your face. Wear a ski mask or cover your face with camo makeup.

That 25,000+ ISO photo really represents the main reason why the KP is more than a worthy Pentax K-3/ii successor in APS-c as well....can't do that with any other camera but the K-1/ii and KP for the moment. I think the clarity of that big sensor though really comes through...great pic--nice dog too,

If only it had two card slots and used the same batteries as our other cameras. We've done the "different batteries in different cameras" before and it is a royal pain. Especially when travelling.

When I take ISO 12800+ photos with my KP, I switched to LV to get it to focus.

As an aside, the KP has the same technology and is a beast in low light. Having both, I can attest to the decent images up to 12,500 ISO, but with a "limited" lens perhaps to 25,000--I just never had to use that much speed...
