mea culpa to the Forum...

I want to apologize to the Forum for the unfortunate personal tone and comments in the recent https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-news-rumors/37611-new-lenses-roadm...008-pdf-4.html thread on my part and those of some other posters.

I stand by my contention that Pentax should have made provisions for future lens compatibility with Pentax legacy bodies; however, in my zeal of stating, and defending, that position I may have used language and emphasis that contributed to the unpleasantness and engendered inappropriate comments all around.

I will attempt to control how and why I apply the rough edge of my digital tongue to threads. Thanks for your understanding,
FHPhotographer

I forgive you, my son. Now, you may go in peace.

We all get carried away once in a while, so no big deal. Don't knock your head on the wall over that.

I did not know about that thread at all. Tragic discussion.

Thanks for the conciliatory words to the group. I did not follow that thread beyond looking at the roadmap and did not see any of the mess. Experience has taught me that roadmap discussions quickly degenerate into war between those people who are distressed in seeing the nothing but cropped-sensor lenses and those who can't image why anyone would want anything else!

BTW, I tend to agree with you regarding FF glass, but would caution that the purpose of the roadmap is to support sales of existing APS-C bodies. It is a marketing tool.

Steve

Oh, c'mon, we all get riled up sometimes. It's all good.

But yeah, like Simon's post above, props for the apology. We're all buddies here.

not that it'll or that it should matter to you but I'll say here anyway, that I [quietly] put you on my ignore list as the posts grew in "venomous intent" [lol] ... I'm saying something now to say "Thanx for this thread". I'm undoing that action now.

I just read that thread for the first time... Wow. It's very nice that you posted this apology thread, but if you find yourself slipping back into that "Mr Nasty" mindset, it would seriously be a good idea to take a break.... From photography, the internet, or both, for a while. Absolutely no need to get so worked up and dismissive of other people's opinions - especially here. Civility is seen as a virtue in this little corner of the tubes.

Anyway, congrats on the mea culpa, a step in the right direction.

FHPhotographer,

I have no hard feelings towards you since I had my fair share of bad days myself (not necessarily here though ).

Apologies accepted,
Radu

Good for you for starting this thread. I have noticed that you can run a little hot at times.
Please don't get us to the point where Adam has to introduce a 'bucket of cold water' button.

BTW please stop using the BLOODY boldness on your posts, other people only use it rarely, I know I'm not the only one put off by it.

Don't start, I had a conversation along those lines with FHPhotographer in another thread.

No James but you make of it what you can, scrapping one day being chummy the next, taking a great photograph (of your dinner), taking a great photograph, variety is the spice of life.
