Thank you for the link. It's a report on the BCN report already pointed out here and on the somewhat sibylline sentence it includes: また、昨今ミラーレスが盛り上がっているが、今後ミラーレスも含めて検討していきたい。

Basically, and for the first time officially / publicly I think, Ricoh Imaging are saying that they are considering the possibility of adding a mirrorless camera to their portfolio (whilst emphasising that there is still a lot to do to improve K-mount equipment).

Pentax has said before they were watching mirrorless and didn't think it was technologically advanced enough. So they were never absolutely opposed to mirrorless. And they did have the K-01, so it's not like they didn't try mirrorless before. In my mind anyway, based on previous statements it was always a possibility.

So this is more about mirrorless with a new mount than mirrorless per se.and announcing they may be getting close.

645 ?
Reporting from CP+ indicated they weren't very interested in talking about "645" - basically like their current approach to "Q".
Considering the quality they are getting from K-1ii with pixel shift, they may see a very limited market for 645 right now, but they don't want to close that down 'forever'.

Maybe they were not interested in talking because they are working on something they do not want to talk about....

Personally, I'd like to see Pentax go mirrorless with an but upgrading the Q series with a similar camera, but with a one inch or 4/3 sensor. and an EVF. It's pretty amazing what people are turning out in 4/3 these days.

To make a long story short: according to these tweets, the line of the party is as follows.

1. The Q line-up is suspended but not terminated.
2. 645 digital: developments continue. It will take a while but the goal is to bring a new camera to market.

Regarding the Q, Kimio Tanaka is both surprised (he thought the line-up had been abandoned) and happy; however, he estimates at less than 30% the probability of new Q products.Regarding the digital 645, Tetsuya Iwasaki's comments are consistent with what Kimio Tanaka heard before from other people, therefore he is not surprised.

The comments about the Q are not in the same postal code as the comments about 645.

but they were mentioned in the same breath at CP+

There were no questions concerning the 645 or Q during the Q&A, therefore the person in charge was 'relieved'.

As I recall they did not think EVF tech was ready and were watching developments in OLED. I notd the Theta Z1 has a small OLED monitor. I also recall there was talk from a former A mbassador about a 100Mp 645. He got in some trouble for that IIRC.
