Ricoh has put a page up about their CP+ booth. It shows a mock-up of the design and it follows the smart black design they had last time but the layout is different. They are actually in the same spot as last year as well, it’s right in front of one of the main entrances to the hall.

It’s worth mentioning that they can’t mention any unannounced products in this, so they just have to be vague about GR, K-mount and Theta. Any announcements are likely to come in the coming weeks.

You shouldn't need 819200 - just 12800 and/or 25600 are impressive enough.

Unfortunately, there are several ways I could be surprised.
I was surprised by their low price on Black Friday which allowed me to get my KP earlier than I had expected - a good surprise.
I was surprised by their failure to announce any DSLR products in the second half of 2018 - a bad surprise.

It's possible. The official Ricoh page for the DFA50* originally said 'PETAX'. Most surprisingly, the misspelling remained for several
days. Presumably, proof reading is of very low priority at Ricoh. Perhaps, they periodically bring in an intern to do the job and
no updates happen until the intern's next visit.

Regarding the event itself, there was an article about it last month on DC Watch. Every year they have a press conference explaining the objectives of the event.

Most of the interesting information is on the slides.

- They have 124 companies exhibiting. That’s four less than 2018, but 2018 had been a big increase from prior years.
- The amount of visitors in 2018 was 68,111 and they are aiming for 70,000 this year.
- They have been touting their success at getting more female attendees in recent years.
- Also, they have a healthy amount of first time visitors, that is increasing.
- The main reasons that people attend are to see the new products and education. I’ve noticed more space has been devoted to seminars in recent years.

It seems that even if the worldwide camera market is struggling, CP+ itself is doing well.

It’s mainly old accessories they are trying to get rid of, but it is genuinely cheap. I got a strap, an IR remote and the ridiculous Mark Newson K-01 case for very little money at the outlet store. You would never get cameras or lenses there though.

that's what i always say, but my partner insists we need a camera that shoots 819200 and i feel inadequate with my k5...

It looks like a translation error (rather, a spelling error during translation); the Japanese version says PENTAX.

PETAX is proof of the brand diminishing into nothingness, for now, from 6 to 5 letters - but who knows tomorrow?

Hehe, it’s astonishing, isn’t it. Here we are, casually discussing ISO 819200, and even 12800, and back in the day when we shot Kodachrome, it was ISO 25 or 64! How far we’ve come.
