Well I 'pulled the trigger' on the used DA* 60-250 f4, collecting it from a branch of a camera chain store in my city. The reason for not choosing to receive it by post is that the post man has a habit of dropping parcels over my 6 foot high gates onto concrete bricks then leaving a 'parcel at side of house, thanks' note.

Several lenses were delivered this way before!

The camera store is going to ask "what are Pentax" when I arrive on Monday to collect.

Looking forward to 'hopefully' using stellar optics in this focal length for the first time, before I was using A70-210 f4, K135 f3.5, M200 f4, M50 f1.4 and M35-70 f2.8-f3.5 (which was actually the best one but weighs 0.5kg).

However the best of the older boys never matched the HD DA15 or HD DA 20-40 Limiteds.

Oh same, I think I lust after a lot less camera gear, but I switched to watches now and my mind is racing with thousands of new options to dump all my money into) thankfully, I think I have all the camera gear I'd ever need. There are definitely things I'd like to optimize, like replacing 2.8 zooms with f4 zooms if and when they are available.
Another "watch guy". I'm just about old enough to know that buying stuff doesn't make me happy - it takes about two weeks then you start lusting for another thing. BUT I have taken up modding watches and that is a cheap but time consuming way of playing around with watches.

So I live like a millennial, currently in Thailand going to Japan tonight. To (hopefully!) buy a new camera, while I'm there as I lost my K5 a week ago. But that is a necessity, I didn't actually feel any need to upgrade the old K5

You haven’t met mrs monochrome.

I collect 1970’s and older Pentax lenses and accessories. My collection fits in one Medium-sized Hitchcock chest of drawers.

She collects 1870’s and older furniture and handwork*. Her collection fits in one Medium-sized house.

So you use part of her collection to store your collection? That would certainly be clever!

I started modding watches right away, bought a Vostok Amphibia among my first ones, and now modding it to my liking)

Your collecting is indeed impressive, Monochrome, but it looks like Mrs Monochrome takes the points!

Looking good so far. Some daytime shots wide open (and stopped down, as well) would be good, to see how good it is in the corners.

Ten years ago I was living in Massachusetts - that method worked there also.
